Meet Sub-Team Evaluation Critera/Rubric

Think of this as the "first string" ... these requirements extend and quantify the Varsity Team Requirements listed above. At meets we will have four sub-teams:

  1. Drive team: run the bot during matches
  2. Pit crew: keep the bot running and tuned up
  3. Scouting: provide intel on other team robots and tactics
  4. Store front: man the pits, present to judges

Selection to one of these meet sub-teams is based on performance evaluation using the following criteria:

  • Critical Skill (10 pts)
    • Must demonstrate proficiency in a skill pertaining to one or more meet sub-team.
  • Dependable (10 pts)
    • Rarely if ever misses a team meeting or event.
    • If going to miss, proactively contacts team lead and/or coach to let us know.
  • Work Ethic (10 pts)
    • Always is productive.
    • If has nothing to do, finds something to do.
    • Always in learning mode.
  • Plays Nice (10 pts)
    • Never a source of or contributor to "drama" on the team.
    • Gets along with most everyone on the team.
    • If has problems or issues with someone on the team, works the issue(s) out expeditiously and constructively.
  • Longevity (3 pts)
    • Receives one point for every prior year has served on the team.

We will generally not be able to bring the entire team to meets that require extended travel (eg: regional championship, nationals). We will be taking only those students selected for the meet sub-teams to away meets.
